Isavia ANS together with the Icelandic Transport Authority are participating in a multinational space weather exercise held on November 8th and 9th at the Eurocontrol headquarters in Brussels.
The European Aviation Crisis Coordination Cell (EACCC) is in charge of the exercise.
The scenario of the exercise is large solar eruptions and their effects on the following:
• High Frequency (HF) radio communication
• GNSS
• Radiation effects in aircraft
The aim of the exercise was to examine the procedures in place in the participating countries and to practice the operational teleconferences and the participants provision of information on them.
About 30 participants were gathered in Brussels and then there were about 60 participants on Teams.
