Due to a volcanic eruption and necessary emergency and investigative flights, the Icelandic Transport Authority has, at the request of the Civil Protection Coordination Centre on behalf of the Icelandic police in Suðurnes, prohibited drone flights over 60 meters above ground. The ban is valid until midnight 23 September 2024.
The ban is in an area within 63°50'00"N 022°26'55"W, 63°55'50"N 022°25'53"W, 63°55'55"N 022°19'11"W, 63°51'43"N 022°19.15"W, 63°50'00"N 022°22'25"W. The area is covering the eruption and city of Grindavík.
The ban is valid until midnight 23 September 2024. Exemption requests shall be submitted to the Civil Protection Coordination Centre via e-mail avs@logreglan.is
